Toyota Motor Philippines is bringing the excitement back to the race track with the recent second leg of its premier motorsport program, the Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup. Originally scheduled for September, the second race weekend has been moved to October 16 to prioritize the safety of its partners and participants. Racing enthusiasts were able to enjoy the heart action at home via the live broadcast on Toyota Motor Philippines’ Facebook channel.

“Thousands of motorsport fans like you joined us online last July, making the return of the Vios Cup a safe and successful comeback. With more than 48 runners, we have shaken up the roadblocks of this pandemic. A total of 49 riders took part in the race, including 25 in the Circuit Championship and 24 in the Autocross Challenge. Jether Miole, winner of the 2021 GR GT Cup promotional class overall, also joined in the fun on the tracks, competing against other racers in the Autocross Challenge and experiencing waku-doki on a real speedway.

Both veteran and newbie racing enthusiasts joined the Promotional, Sporting and Super Sporting categories of the Circuit Championship, with Julia Delos Angeles winning both of the top three Promotional Class prizes, while Royce Sarmiento took first place in the final race.

“This stage, I really concentrated and I did everything I could to be more competitive. I have allowed more time to train, and whenever I can’t be physically on the track, I always try to imagine and train remotely through my on-board videos. Compared to the previous stage, I think the main difference is that I stopped pushing myself too hard and just had fun, ”said Julia as she shared her winning strategy and the lessons from the July race. .

Meanwhile, Inigo Anton and Julian Tang dominated the sport class as constant top 3 contenders. Jacob Ang is also a familiar face on the sport class podium, but his place was taken by Joaquin Garrido during the race 6. Vios Cup veterans Estefano Rivera, Bryan Co, Gerard Loy, Red Diwa and Pauland Dumlao keep the Super Sporting Class exciting. as they take turns in the Top-3, with Rivera as the regular podium usher.
